RICHMOND, Ky. – The 2011 fall collegiate sports season is almost here as Eastern Kentucky University football players are scheduled to report to campus Monday. The team will hold its first official practice Tuesday evening, Aug. 2, on the synthetic turf surface at Roy Kidd Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
Around 95 players are on the preseason camp roster including a league-high seven players who were named to the 2011 preseason All-OVC team. The first practice featuring pads will be Saturday, Aug. 6.
All preseason practices are open to the public. Colonel supporters and media are more than welcome to attend.
EKU opens the 2011 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Kansas State. The Colonels’ home opener is scheduled for Sept. 10 against Missouri State at 6 p.m.
