Spring Football is Here

RICHMOND, Ky. – Even though the official start of football season is still months away, there are plenty of Eastern Kentucky University football activities on tap in the months of March and April.

This week is the annual ‘Tour of Duty’ week for the football players. All week, players wake up bright and early for conditioning drills at Roy Kidd Stadium in preparation for spring football practice.

On Thursday, March 21 the football team will host its Pro Day event for former EKU players looking to continue their playing career in the professional ranks.

The first spring practice for the current Colonels is scheduled for Monday, March 25. All weekday practices are scheduled from 2:45 to 5:15 p.m. Saturday practices will be held in the morning from 8:15 to 10:45 a.m. On Saturday, April 13 the Colonels will hit the road to hold a scrimmage in Hazard. The spring game on Saturday, April 20 is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
