LOVELAND, Ohio – Eastern Kentucky University’s final round 286 was two shots under par, but it was the Colonels' worst round of the Xavier Invitational and it dropped EKU into a fifth place tie. Phil Hendrickson’s third round 71 dropped the senior from a tie for first to a tie for third. Ryan Britt’s 70 was the best of the day for Eastern and moved him into a tie for 14th.
The event was held at the par-72, 6,921-yard Oasis Golf Club and included 20 teams and 104 players.
Marquette University won with a three-round total of 841, 23 shots under par. Western Carolina and Campbell finished in a tie for second at 21-under. Saint Mary’s placed fourth at 20-under-par. Xavier and Eastern Kentucky with a three-round total of 850 tied for fourth at 14-under-par.
Xavier had the day’s best round, a 16-under-par 272. Marquette followed yesterday’s second round 266 with a 280 today.
Hendrickson finished with a three-round total of 205, 11-under-par. Britt finished at five-under with a 211. Justin Moore tied for 28th at one-under. Jesse Massie tied for 44th at three-over.
