BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University junior Lindsey Loescher has been selected to the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team, the league announced today. In her first season with the Colonels, the outside hitter led the team in kills (371) and aces (21), and finished third in digs (197).

Loescher’s average of 3.67 kills per set is the second best in the conference.

Loescher recorded 10 or more kills in 19 of the 27 matches that she played in. The junior posted 20-plus kills in four matches. She finished with a season-best 29 kills against Tennessee State on October 18.

The Crystal Lake, Ill., native recorded five double-doubles. She posted a season-best 15 digs on the same night she totaled 29 kills against Tennessee State.

Loescher served up four aces against Tennessee Tech on October 3.

Loescher was one of seven players selected to the all-newcomer team.
