Since 2004-05, Eastern Kentucky has averaged a postseason appearance every two years.

In 2005, the Colonels earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. EKU trailed No. 2 seed Kentucky by only five points with less than a minute to play in the first round.

Two years later, Eastern was back in the big dance. In 2007, the Colonels put a scare in No. 1 seed North Carolina. EKU went on a 32-9 run to draw within four points in the second half.

The Colonels made their third NCAA Tournament appearance in nine years in 2014.  EKU nearly upset No. 2 seed Kansas, leading the Jayhawks with 8:55 left in the game and trailing by only three with 3:39 to go.

In 2010, the Colonels hosted a first round game in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). In 2013, Eastern advanced to the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT).
