Former Colonel Neil Sellers Named New York-Penn League All-Star By

RICHMOND, Ky. - Former Eastern Kentucky University baseball star Neil Sellers ‘04 was named a New York-Penn League All-star by At the Yard magazine in its December 2005 issue. At the Yard is a magazine dedicated to minor league baseball.

The third baseman led the league in hits (96) and was second in average (.344) for the Tri-City ValleyCats, the Class ‘A’ affiliate of the Houston Astros.

Sellers, a 32nd-round draft pick by the Astros in 2004, was named the New York-Penn League Player of the Week for the week of June 20-26 after batting .565 with 10 RBI over six games for the ValleyCats.

A native of Robards, Ky., Sellers graduated from EKU as the Colonels all-time leader in runs batted in (214), hits (279), doubles (62) and at-bats (793). He was a two-time co-captain for Eastern and a second-team All-OVC selection in 2004.
