Athletics Communications

Mission

The Eastern Kentucky University Athletics Communications Office serves as the primary liaison between EKU athletics administrators, coaches and student-athletes and local, regional and national media.

The office works to promote EKU's 16 varsity sports by facilitating media coverage, coordinating interview and credential requests, providing information and resources to media members, and supporting the communications needs of EKU Athletics.

Athletics Communications also serves as a primary public relations arm of the department, helping tell the stories of EKU's student-athletes, coaches and programs while promoting and protecting the EKU Athletics brand.

Media Interview Policy

Media members seeking interviews with Eastern Kentucky University student-athletes, coaches or staff must coordinate requests through the EKU Athletics Communications Office. Interview requests should be submitted by email or phone with as much advance notice as possible.

The preferred time for student-athlete interviews is following practice. Practice schedules and media availability vary by sport, and media members should contact the athletics communications staff member assigned to that sport before attending a practice or requesting an interview.

An athletics communications representative will assist with interviews following practice when applicable. Team meetings held before, during or after practice are private and closed to the media.

Interview requests outside regularly scheduled media availability will be coordinated around the academic, athletic and personal schedules of student-athletes and coaches. Student-athlete phone numbers and other personal contact information will not be provided to media members. Media members should not contact student-athletes directly and last-minute requests cannot be guaranteed.

Athletics Communications coordinates post-game interviews following EKU home contests and, when applicable, road contests. Following the designated cooling-off period, typically 10 minutes after the competition has ended, requested student-athletes and coaches will be made available in the designated interview area. Team locker rooms are closed to media at all times.

EKU athletics communications will make every reasonable effort to accommodate media requests and asks that media members adhere to all department, conference, CSC, and NCAA policies.

Football Credential Information

PARKING PASSES: Credentialed media members should park in the Greg Adams Tennis Center parking lot, located across the Eastern Bypass from Roy Kidd Stadium.

SEASON CREDENTIALS: Credentials for the 2026 EKU football season will be distributed before the Sept. 12 home opener. Once a season credential has been approved, media members should coordinate with EKU athletics communications to arrange pickup.

SINGLE-GAME CREDENTIALS: All single-game credential requests must be submitted to Alex Pryor at alex.pryor@eku.edu by noon two days before the game. Requests received after the deadline cannot be guaranteed.

VISITING TEAM CREDENTIALS: Media members covering the visiting team should first coordinate credential approval through their institution's athletics communications contact. Once approved by the visiting institution, requests should be submitted to Alex Pryor at alex.pryor@eku.edu.

Basketball Credential Information

EKU men's and women's basketball home games are played at Baptist Health Arena.

Credential requests should be submitted by email to the appropriate EKU athletics communications contact at least two days before the contest. Men's basketball requests should be directed to Kevin Britton at kevin.britton@eku.edu, while women's basketball requests should be directed to Alex Pryor at alex.pryor@eku.edu.

Single-game credentials will not be mailed. Approved credentials may be picked up at the media entrance will-call area inside Baptist Health Arena.

Olympic Sport Credential Information

Media outlets seeking credentials for EKU home events other than football or basketball should submit requests to the EKU athletics communications staff member assigned to the respective sport at least two days before the contest.

Requests received after the deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Officially Licensed EKU Logos

The EKU Athletics Branding Team oversees the use of EKU Athletics marks and visual identity to ensure consistency across teams, departments, facilities and external applications.

Use of EKU Athletics logos, marks and colors must comply with Eastern Kentucky University branding and licensing standards. Third parties seeking to use EKU Athletics marks should receive appropriate authorization before use.
