NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Eastern Kentucky women's and men's indoor track and field teams finished third and fourth, respectively, at the 2006 OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Gentry Center on the campus of Tennessee State University.

Sophomore Jacob Korir won the mile run and 3,000 meters one day after taking the 5,000 meter title. Senior Steve Maina finished first in the 800 meters and the men's distance medley team placed second.

Senior Shannon Tobias won the 800 meters and finished third in the mile on the women's side. Ebony Jones placed second in the 200 meters.

Day One
On day one, sophomore Jacob Korir led the men with a first-place finish in the finals of the 5,000 meters. Korir finished in 15:06.89, nearly 11 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

On the women's side, senior Shannon Miller finished second in the 5,000 meter finals. In addition the women's distance medley team placed first.
