RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team was informed today that it will host Ball State as part of the O’Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters weekend Feb. 22-24. The Colonels and Cardinals will play on Saturday, Feb. 23. Game time is 7 p.m.

Ball State is currently 3-17 overall and tied for fifth in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference at 2-6. Eastern is 4-0 all-time against Ball State, but the two teams have not met on the hardwood since 1979.

This is the third year Eastern Kentucky has participated in the BracketBusters series. Last season, the Colonels traveled to Horizon League foe Youngstown State. As part of the BracketBusters agreement, EKU will make a return trip to Ball State next season.

The BracketBusters series, an ESPN television property, is now in its sixth season and has expanded to a pool of 100 teams from 16 conferences participating in 2008. A total of 14 games will be televised on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN360.com and ESPN Classic). No OVC team was selected for a television game.
