RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University head women’s soccer coach Lindsay Basalyga announced on Monday the dates for her 2012 Foothills Soccer Academy and the debut of her Elite Soccer Camp, which is an overnight camp for high school age girls.

The Foothills Soccer Academy will take place June 11-14 at the EKU Intramural Fields and is open to boys and girls ages 5-13.

Like in years past, the academy is focused on helping local soccer players, of any skill level, develop their skills and knowledge of the game. The camp is built on the principles of fun, technique, tactics and a low player-to-coach ratio. Technique and skill development will be done appropriate to the age and skill level of each player. Players will constantly have the ball at their feet for many repetitions and have many opportunities to achieve success. Tactical learning of the game will be emphasized by using small-sided games and other match situations.

Prices for the camp range from $70-$165.

The Elite Soccer Camp will take place July 26-29.

The Elite Soccer Camp is for girls high school players and is focused on developing those players’ technical and tactical skills to perform at the next level. Players will be challenged in small group setting and game-like environments to enhance their ability to play and make decisions both on and off the ball.

Prices for the camp range from $350-$400.
