KANSAS CITY – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team has been awarded a Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.45 during the 2015-16 academic year.
The Colonels posted their highest single-semester GPA in the spring of 2016 (3.59).
In addition to their success in the classroom, the Colonels are also enjoying success on the field under first-year head coach
Nick Flohre. EKU (8-2-0) has won eight consecutive games and is off to the best start in program history. The eight-game winning streak is currently the third longest in the country, behind only South Carolina (11) and Southern California (nine).
The Colonels will go for their ninth straight win tonight at Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay.
