Final Results

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Senior Billy Basham tied for 12th individually and the Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team placed eighth at the Musketeer Classic, hosted by Xavier University.
 
After beginning with an opening round score of 290 on Monday, the Colonels shot back-to-back rounds of 297 on Monday afternoon and Tuesday to close out the event.  Eastern's 54-hole total of 884 was nine shots better than ninth place Northern Iowa and just one shot behind seventh place Creighton.
 
Basham shot rounds of 72, even-par 71 and 73 for a total of 216 (+3) to tie for 12th in a field of 87 golfers. 
 
Wisconsin (861) captured the team title by four strokes over second place Northern Illinois (865).  In addition to Northern Iowa, the Colonels finished in front of host Northern Kentucky, host Xavier, DePaul and IUPUI.
 
The 13-team event was contested on the par-71, 6,809-yard course at Maketewah Country Club.
 
Andreas Nielson (219) tied for 23rd overall.  Markus Lindgren (224) tied for 42nd and Willis Gaer (227) tied for 59th.  Tyler Lippert (230) tied for 66th.
 
The Colonels will conclude the fall portion of their schedule on Nov. 3-5 at the East Bay Deli Classic hosted by Charleston Southern at Turtle Point Golf Club on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
