RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University soccer head coach
Matt Cosinuke announced the signing of Maia Ransom and Lauren Seedlock on Thursday.

Ransom is a transfer from Cleveland State University. She appeared in 25 matches and made 18 starts during her two seasons with the Vikings.

The defender from Fairlawn, Ohio has scored three goals in her collegiate career, including a game-winner against Robert Morris.
Â
Ransom was named an All-American as a senior at Copley High School in 2019. She was also voted the Greater Akron District Player of the Year that season. Ransom earned first team all-state and all-district honors as a junior. She finished her high school career with 52 goals.

Ransom chose EKU over the likes of Marshall, Southern Indiana, Cincinnati, and Dayton.

Seedlock is a graduate transfer goalkeeper from Radford University.

She was named to the Big South All-Conference Second Team in 2021 after starting all 19 matches, posting a 13-5-1 record, and recording 11 shutouts. She made 72 saves on the season.

The native of Simpsonville, South Carolina helped lead JL Mann High School to a 24-1 record and the SCHSL 5A State Championship in 2017. Seedlock was named all-conference and second team all-region in 2015. She was named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar-All American as a high school senior.

Seedlock selected EKU over such schools as Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, George Washington, and Bellarmine.
