EKU SAAC Mission:
The mission of the Eastern Kentucky University Student-Athlete Advisory committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience, by representing our teammates while engaging in the Athletics Department decision-making process; promoting personal, social, athletic, and academic development; and fostering a positive student athlete image.
EKU SAAC Purpose:
1) To establish and maintain a student-athlete voice within the governance structure of Eastern Kentucky University and the Department of Athletics
2) To promote effective communication between the Department of Athletics and EKU student-athletes.
3) To provide opportunities for and encourage student-athlete involvement in programs and community service projects that encourage academic success, healthy living, informed decision-making and social responsibility.
4) To promote communication between and camaraderie among EKU intercollegiate athletics teams.
5) To assist in the review and development of Department of Athletics, ASUN Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) policies affecting student-athletes.
6) To enhance the student-athlete experience by promoting opportunities for growth and leadership development, protecting student-athlete well-being, and fostering a positive student-athlete image by serving as positive role models.
