HIGH SCHOOL: Named all-region and all-district during the 2006 and 2007 seasons...Earned all-county honors in 2006...His junior year, he compiled a stellar record of 10-2 with a 1.56 ERA...Given the “Character Award” as a senior in 2007...As a sophomore, the day after his grandma passed away, he pitched a complete game shutout against Boyle County to earn his first high school victory...Named “Most Improved Pitcher” as a sophomore in 2005...Played summer ball with the American Legion Post 38 Twins from 2004-08...Lettered in basketall all four years of high school.
