Dennis McCaffrey joined the staff at EKU in February of 2015. He works primarily with distance runners.
McCaffrey arrived in Richmond after a brief stint as a volunteer assistant coach at Michigan State, where he helped with practice and assisted with on-campus recruiting. While he was in East Lansing, the Michigan State women's cross country team won the 2014 national championship.
McCaffrey was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Morehead State during the 2013-14 season. He helped lead the MSU men's and women's cross country teams to their best regional finishes in program history that season.
McCaffrey competed collegiately at Southern Oregon University, where he was a member of SOU's 2010 NAIA national championship cross country team.
He earned a bachelor's degree in health/physical education from SOU in 2011, and he went on to earn a master's of arts in teaching from Morehead State in 2014.
