Ben Fratrik

Ben Fratrik

Ben Fratrik is in his second year as Director of Basketball Operations after spending two seasons at Lynchburg College (Va.) as an assistant coach.

“Ben is a great addition to our staff,” coach Neubauer said. “He brings coaching experience at both the high school and college level, and a work ethic that is second to none.”

In his time at Lynchburg, Fratrik helped lead the Hornets to their first 10-win season since 1996. His responsibilities covered a wide spectrum including scouting, recruiting, video coordinator, strength and conditioning coordinator and academic supervisor. Under Fratrik’s direction, the team GPA rose from 2.5 in 2005 to 2.9 in 2006. He also served as the head coach of Lynchburg’s junior varsity squad and as an assistant sports information director.

Fratrik’s first coaching stop was at Lake Mary High School outside of Orlando, Fla., where he also taught history. He spent four years at Lake Mary (2000-04) as the head junior varsity and assistant varsity boys’ basketball coach. The varsity program improved every year Fratrik was on staff, culminating with a 19-9 record in the 2003-04 season.

As a student at Florida State, Fratrik served two years as head manager for the Seminole basketball program and also had a brief stint on the squad as a walk-on player.

Fratrik is currently finishing his work for a master’s degree in educational leadership from Lynchburg.

Fratrik is married to the former Jessica Homan. They reside in Richmond.
