Former EKU tennis player Carles Pons is in his third season with the Colonel coaching staff. Pons was a part of the three NCAA Tournament squads as a Colonel – 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Now a member of the coaching staff, Pons is responsible for on-court coaching, handling administrative tasks and executing miscellaneous duties off the court. Pons is also working towards completing his master’s degree in sports administration at EKU.
Pons earned second team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in 2010 after going 7-0 in OVC singles action. As a senior in 2012, he teamed with Hugo Klientovsky to go 12-1 at No. 1 doubles and undefeated against league foes.
Off the court, Pons enjoys all types of sports, listening to music and traveling.
