Biography
Ivanis is a steady baseliner who possesses very good footwork and court coverage … has solid ground strokes and a strong, offensive serve … focused and determined on the court to come away with a win … played the majority of the 2008 season at No. 5 and No. 6 singles … went 4-4 in OVC singles competition a year ago … won five singles matches in a row late last spring … picked up a win at No. 6 singles against UT Martin in the 2008 OVC tournament … teamed up with Mel Segota to capture the flight ‘C’ doubles title at the 2007 Louisville Invitational … went 2-0 against OVC competition as a sophomore, winning both matches in straight sets … played primarily No. 2 singles his first year on the squad and notched three OVC victories … teamed up with four different doubles partners as a freshman before settling with Segota at No. 3 … a top-10 player in Belarus throughout his junior years … winner and finalist of numerous under-16 tournaments in Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and Russia … off the court, he enjoys snowboarding, ice hockey, video games and music … his tennis goals are to win the OVC team championship and qualify for the NCAA tournament … in the classroom, Ivanis hopes to post a 3.5 GPA this spring and graduate on time.
