Wayne Lawrence Jr. was hired as an assistant coach for sprints and jumps in August 2023.
Lawrence Jr. was a member of the track and field team at Iowa and Kentucky. During his collegiate career, he was a 14x All-American, 8x Big Ten champion, and 2020 Big Ten Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Lawrence Jr. was also a 2019 Jamaican NACAC qualifier.Â
His personal-bests include the indoor 200-meters (20.8), outdoor 200-meters (20.7), indoor 400-meters (45.3), outdoor 400-meters (45.3), and 600-meters (1:16.55).
Lawrence Jr. was born in Dayton, Ohio. He has a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Iowa and a certificate in business from Kentucky.
