High School
Attended Bowling Green High School and played for Calvin Head, helped the Lady Purples to an 85-24 overall record and three KHSAA Sweet 16 appearance during her time at BGHS. In Shelton’s senior season, BGHS made the KHSAA Sweet 16 for the third time in her career, posting 10.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Her junior year, the Lady Purples advanced to the Elite Eight where Saniyah averaged 11.1 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game on 43 percent shooting, named first team all-district, all-region, and a member of the KHSAA All-Tournament team. In her freshman campaign, Shelton averaged a career-high 15.4 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor, helping BGHS return to the Sweet 16 while being named first team all-district and second team all-region.
