Kalyn Fox was selected as one of 30 candidates nationwide for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award.  Fox, a native of Murray, Ky., pitches and plays first base for the Colonels.  She was the only Ohio Valley Conference softball player selected as a candidate for the award.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages those leaders to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact.

On Wednesday, Fox, in a relief appearance, shutout Yale over the final three innings and forced in the game winning run with a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh.  In the Colonels' second game against La Salle, after allowing three runs in the third inning, Fox held La Salle scoreless while allowing only one hit over the final four innings as EKU scored five unanswered runs to pick up the win.
