As of Oct. 5, Caldwell led the nation in interceptions per game (1.0). The defensive back tallied two interceptions at No. 23 Eastern Illinois on Oct. 3, including a fourth quarter pick that was returned 10 yards for a score to put the Colonels ahead, 36-24.

Caldwell, who is also used on kick-off and punt returns, has been named OVC Defensive Player of the Week twice this year and a College Sporting News National All-Star following the EIU game.
