Birmingham, Ala. - The Eastern Kentucky volleyball team pushed its win streak to 13 matches with a 3-0 victory over Samford on Friday night.
The Colonels (21-3, 11-0 OVC) rode a match-high 20 kills from junior
Liz Guard to pick up their 21st victory of the year. Guard hit .633 in the match, helping EKU to a .306 hitting percentage.
Eastern posted a 30-23 win in game one after hitting .378 with 23 kills over the course of the set. EKU followed with a .344 mark en route to a 30-19 win, while holding the Bulldogs (5-16, 3-8 OVC) to a .031 percentage.
Senior
Lesley Aldridge was limited to 10 kills in the win, but added nine digs to move past Deb Winkler (1,404 digs) for second place on EKU's all-time digs list.
Freshman
Brittany Nobilio led all players with 18 digs, while sophomore
Kelly Jennings added a 40-assist, 10-dig double-double.

Lori Duncan's seven-year tenure. The 2003 Colonels held the previous standard with 20 wins and 10 conference victories.
EKU returns to action tomorrow afternoon against Jacksonville State at 3 p.m.
