Martin, Tenn. - The Eastern Kentucky volleyball team opened up Ohio Valley Conference play with a 3-0 win at Tennessee-Martin on Friday night.
The Colonels (10-3, 1-0 OVC) outhit the Skyhawks .210 to .078, and rode a 15-kill, 17-dig double-double from senior
Lesley Aldridge to their 10th win of the year. With 17 digs against UTM (2-6, 0-1 OVC), Aldridge increased her career total to 1,280 digs, which moved her past former Colonel Angela Boykins (1,272) into fourth place on the school's all-time list.
EKU rallied from six-point deficits in each of the first two games en route to 35-33 and 30-25 victories before securing the sweep with a 30-24 win in game three.
Freshman
Brittany Nobilio, the reigning OVC Defensive Player of the Week, tied Aldridge with a match-high 17 digs. She was one of five Colonels to tally 10-or-more digs in the win. Junior

Jessica Sabath chipped in 11 a piece, with Sabath adding in 11 kills for her first double-double of the year.
Sophomore setter
Kelly Jennings registered 13 digs and dished out 36 assists, which moved her into fifth place on the school's all-time assists list (2,043) past current EKU assistant coach
Mary Lee Keranko (2,009).
Junior
Liz Guard tied Aldridge with a match-high 15 kills. Aldridge, who picked up her team-best 11th double-double in the win, finished with 40 attempts on the night to move into sixth on the school's career attacks list.
UTM's Kathryn Sprague paced the Skyhawks with a team-high 10 kills in the losing effort. Senior Leigh Reiniche chipped in nine kills and a team-high 13 digs for the hosts.
EKU returns to action tomorrow, with a conference match at Murray State (3 p.m.).
