Nobilio Moves Into NCAA Top 10 For Career Digs, Colonels End Weekend With Loss At Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. – Senior Brittany Nobilio moved into the NCAA’s top-10 list for career digs during Eastern Kentucky’s 3-0 loss to Murray State today. Nobilio entered the day needing eight digs to claim a spot on the NCAA top-10 list, she finished with 26 to raise her career total to 2,264, ninth most in NCAA history.

Game scores were 30-23, 30-24 and 30-26. Murray State improves to 12-9 and 9-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play. EKU drops to 2-19 overall and 1-10 in league matches.

Juniors Bridget Mustard and Amanda Wilson led Eastern with 14 and 13 kills respectively. Freshman Kate Hendle added 36 assists and 20 digs. Freshman Amanda Fago served up five aces and totaled 11 digs.

Alyssa Groves finished with a match-high 15 kills for Murray State. Tara DeMage had 10 kills and 17 digs. Cassie Chesney totaled 43 assists.

The Racers committed just 14 errors in 159 attacks.

The Colonels will face Tennessee State on Tuesday in Nashville. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
