BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Eastern Kentucky’s volleyball team lost 3-0 to Samford Friday in Birmingham, Ala. EKU senior Brittany Nobilio recorded 18 digs and needs only nine more to reach third place on the NCAA career digs list.

Game scores were 30-21, 30-21 and 30-25. EKU falls to 5-24 on the season and 4-15 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Samford improves its league mark to 10-9 and is now 15-13 overall.

Freshman Leah Nelson led the Colonels with 10 digs.

Sheridan Stangohr and Kirstein Sosnowski led Samford with 14 and 12 kills respectively. Three Bulldogs reached double figures in digs.

The Colonels will conclude their regular season on Saturday with a road match at Jacksonville State. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
