Morehead State Stages Comeback To Beat Eastern Kentucky

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky’s volleyball team jumped out in front 1-0 on Morehead State but the Eagles won three straight games to post the 3-1 win tonight in Morehead, Ky. The Colonels fall to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play. MSU moves to 8-5 on the season and 2-0 in the OVC. The game scores were 27-30, 30-16, 30-23 and 30-26.

With 30 digs tonight, EKU senior Brittany Nobilio closed to within 15 of setting a new OVC career digs record.

Despite hitting just .162 in the first game Eastern Kentucky took the early lead with a 30-27 game one victory. Morehead State hit .314 in game two and pulled away. EKU’s attack trouble continued in the final three games, hitting .108, .026 and .172 respectively.

Amanda Wilson led the Colonels with 13 kills. Amanda Fago and Leah Nelson added 12 each. Fago added four service aces.

Erin Peak finished with a match-high 18 kills for the Eagles. Kaitlin Craven added 14.

EKU will return to action Friday when Tennessee Tech visits McBrayer Arena at 7 p.m.
