CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Kentucky University’s volleyball team fell 3-0 tonight to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill. The Panthers swept the match by scores of 30-25, 30-17 and 30-20. The Colonels fall to 1-14 overall and 0-5 in Ohio Valley Conference matches. EIU moves to 8-7 on the season and 1-5 in league matches.
Junior Amanda Wilson and freshman Amanda Fago led EKU with nine kills each. Sophomore Abbey Blank posted 15 assists and senior Brittany Nobilio recorded 15 digs.
Eliza Zwettler finished with a match-high 15 kills for Eastern Illinois. Alex Zwettler added 11 kills. Maren Crabtree recorded 39 assists.
The Colonels posted a .026 attack percentage while the Panthers hit .304.
On Saturday EKU will travel to Cape Girardeau for a 3 p.m. match against Southeast Missouri State.
