EKU Hits the Road in Search of Second Straight OVC Win

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team hits the road this Saturday looking for its second consecutive OVC win. The Colonels head to Tennessee Tech hoping to earn their seventh win in the last eight years against the Golden Eagles. Game time is set for 8 p.m. ET.

Eastern Kentucky (2-3, 1-1 OVC) was stretched to the limits last week before prevailing over Austin Peay in overtime, 13-10. The Colonel offense is still trying to get on track and has struggled in the last three trips to Tennessee Tech. The Golden Eagles have held Eastern to less than 20 points in each of those games, including a 27-14 triumph over the Colonels in 2006.

Tennessee Tech (3-2, 1-0) is one of four teams still undefeated in conference games. The Golden Eagles squeaked out a 29-27 win at Southeast Missouri in week three. Running backs Henry Sailes and Derrian Waters combined for 158 yards on the ground and three scores in that win. One week ago, TTU rolled past Central Methodist, 47-19. Tech has allowed a league-low three sacks this year, but also ranks last in turnover margin at -7.

The Colonels own 47 all-time wins over Tennessee Tech, second most in the program annals. The two teams first met in 1937 with EKU leading the all-time series, 47-17.
