Lindsey Loescher recorded a match-high 19 kills but it wasn’t enough as Eastern Kentucky’s volleyball team lost 3-0 to Austin Peay Friday night. None of the three games were decided by more than three points, but the Lady Govs (15-6, 7-2 OVC) snatched all three.
Loescher added eight digs and two blocks to her 19 kills for the Colonels (3-16, 2-7 OVC). Three players recorded double-digit dig totals. Sophomore
Abby O'Connor posted a match-high 28 digs,
Jill Henneman added 20 and
Kelsey Rose contributed 11.
Stephanie Champine led Austin Peay with 14 kills and added 11 digs. Kirstin Distler and Jessica Mollman each finished with 11 kills. Sarah Alisaleh (25) and Marie Mullins (20) both contributed 20-plus assists.
The Lady Govs posted a .242 attack percentage and only committed 13 errors in 157 total attacks. EKU hit .172 with 18 errors.
The Colonels will finish off their road trip on Saturday with a 3 p.m. match at Tennessee State University.
