Volleyball Drops 3-2 Decision At Jacksonville State

Senior Bridget Mustard led EKU with 17 kills against Jacksonville State.

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. –
Eastern Kentucky’s volleyball team built a 2-1 lead but couldn’t hold off a comeback by Jacksonville State and lost 3-2 tonight at Pete Mathews Coliseum. Three Colonels (5-18, 4-9 OVC) finished with double digit kill totals, led by senior Bridget Mustard with 17.

Game scores were 16-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-21 and 15-12.

Senior Amanda Wilson and junior Lindsey Loescher finished with 15 kills each. Mustard committed only three errors in 38 attacks and posted a .368 attack percentage. As a team, Eastern totaled 56 kills and a .236 attack percentage.

Caitlin Vorbeck posted a match-high 22 kills for the Gamecocks (7-17, 3-10 OVC). Brittney Whitten contributed a double-double with 13 kills and 24 digs. JSU totaled 64 kills and a .199 hitting percentage.

The Colonels will be back in action on Saturday when they face Tennessee Tech at 3 p.m. ET.
