RICHMOND, Ky. – After having a week off to concentrate on fall semester final exams, the Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team returns to the court Saturday night at Cincinnati. The game will be televised regionally by FSN Ohio and tip off at 6:30 p.m.
The Colonels (7-3) have won three straight and six of their last seven games heading into Saturday’s contest at Cincinnati. Only one opponent has scored more than 60 points against EKU over the last seven games.
Cincinnati (8-2) will be playing its fourth game in eight days on Saturday. The Bearcats made a season-high 12 three-pointers, including nine in the first half, on the way to cruising to a 75-63 win over Mississippi State on Thursday. Deonta Vaughn, Cincinnati’s leading scorer, posted 16 points, six assists and seven rebounds in the win over MSU.
Eastern Kentucky is 0-9 all-time against Cincinnati. The last meeting between the two schools was exactly 11 years ago on Dec. 20, 1997.
Following the Cincinnati game, Eastern Kentucky concludes the 2008 calendar year with a home game against Indiana University Northwest (NAIA) on Dec. 22.

--Through Dec. 14, the Colonels ranked eighth nationally in three-pointers made per game (10.3). Eastern made a season-high 16 trifectas at Texas Tech on Nov. 22. EKU also ranks 10th nationally in turnovers per game (11.4). The Colonels have committed fewer than 10 turnovers in a game three times thus far.

Mike Rose needs 14 points to move up to 12th on the EKU all-time scoring list. Rose, currently sitting with 1,332 points, ranks second in the OVC in both three-point shooting (51.6 percent) and three-pointers made per game (3.2).
