Gertrude Hood Field, the home for EKU softball, recently underwent a series of improvements. A new scoreboard was installed last summer and a new backstop was installed over the winter. 

The new backstop includes a net constructed on a brick base, replacing the previous chain link fence backstop. On the field side of the brick base, padding with the Colonel logo has been installed. 

The new scoreboard features inning-by-inning scoring, a large Colonel logo and larger ad space.
Fans will have several opportunities this spring to see the improvements first hand. EKU will host SIU Edwardsville on Saturday. The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m.
