EKU Aims for Record Breaking Performance Saturday Against SEMO

The Colonels (12-6, 5-2 OVC) have won 17 straight home games, equaling a McBrayer Arena record, dating back to December 2008. The winning streak is tied for the eighth longest active streak in the nation. EKU won 17 straight home games in McBrayer Arena on two other occasions – 1987-88 and 1990-91.

Southeast Missouri (5-11, 2-4) has dropped four of its last five games under new head coach Dickey Nutt. The Redhawks committed 27 turnovers in an 80-40 loss at Morehead State Thursday night. The 40 points were a season low for Southeast Missouri. Freshman Derek Thompson (10 points) was the lone SEMO player to reach double figures.

Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series by a slim margin of 18-17. However, the Colonels have won four of the last five meetings against the Redhawks in McBrayer Arena.

Following the Southeast Missouri game, Eastern Kentucky continues its four game homestand Tuesday night in a non-conference contest against Chicago State.
