Volleyball Comes From Behind To Pick Up Road Win At TSU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –
Eastern Kentucky fell behind 2-1 at Tennessee State on Friday night before winning the final two sets to pull out a come from behind 3-2 victory and stretch its winning streak to four straight matches.

The Colonels won by scores of 25-18, 20-25, 24-26, 25-23 and 15-13. EKU improves to 6-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 7-11 overall. The Tigers drop to 3-6 in league play and 5-12 overall.

Senior Lauren Snyder led the visitors with a match-high 19 kills to go along with a .327 attack percentage and 13 digs. She made just three errors in 49 total attacks. Junior Amanda Fago contributed 13 kills and two block assists. She made just one error in 34 attacks for a .353 attack percentage. Senior Autumn Harms finished with eight kills and three block assists. Senior #Abby O’Connor# led all players with 27 digs.

Santia Sanders had a team-best 18 kills for Tennessee State. Three Tigers registered 18 or more digs led by Kamile King with 20. Vicmari Prospero had five total blocks.

TSU had 12 more kills (66) than Eastern (54), three more blocks and had a .207 attack percentage compared to EKU’s .179 hitting percentage. However, the Tigers made 16 service errors.

The Colonels will play at Austin Peay on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
