Colonel Vollebyall Falls At Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky’s volleyball team hit another bump in the road on its three-match road trip, losing its second match in two days after falling to Murray State, 3-0.

EKU (11-11, 6-5 OVC) lost by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-19.

Freshman Hannah Burkle had a team-best nine kills to go along with two blocks.  Sophomore Ashley Edmond finished with eight kills and 10 digs.

Beth Mahurin led the Racers (5-17, 5-6 OVC) with 10 kills.  Mary Cunningham added eight kills and three blocks.

Murray State finished with nine more kills and out-hit Eastern .245 to .071.  MSU also held a 5-1 advantage in service aces.

The Colonels’ three-match road trip ends on Monday at Tennessee State.  The match in Nashville is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET.
