Colonels End Three-Match Road Trip With Loss At Tennessee State

Eastern Kentucky University’s volleyball team ended its three-match road trip with its third straight loss, falling at Tennessee State University, 3-1, in Nashville.

The Tigers (12-7, 8-4 OVC) won by scores of 25-16, 25-27, 25-23 and 25-15.

Freshman Hannah Burkle led EKU (11-12, 6-6 OVC) with 15 kills.  She made only four errors in 29 attempts for a .379 attack percentage.  Ashley Edmond added 10 kills.  Kelsey Kuehner added six kills and four blocks.

Rebecca Moudree led the Tigers with 15 kills.  Shaquita Williams added 13 kills and five blocks.

TSU totaled 56 kills compared to only 35 for Eastern and out-blocked the visitors 11.5-9.  Tennessee State served up nine aces, but also made 14 service errors.

The Colonels will return home before playing their fourth straight road match on Saturday at Tennessee-Martin.  The match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
