CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University’s volleyball team lost a five-set match at Austin Peay and saw its three-match winning streak come to an end.
The Lady Govs (4-14, 2-5 OVC) won by scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 14-25 and 15-12.
Ashley Edmond led EKU (9-9, 4-3 OVC) with 24 kills and a .388 attack percentage.
Hannah Burkle contributed 19 kills.
Dena Ott recorded 32 digs.
Four players recorded 10 or more kills for Austin Peay. Nikki Doyle and Jada Stotts each recorded 13 kills.
The Colonels finished with 69 kills and a .228 attack percentage, compared to 61 kills and a .210 hitting percentage for APSU.
A kill by Burkle gave Eastern a 12-11 lead in the decisive fifth set. However, APSU scored four straight to win the set and the match.
After playing three straight on the road, the Colonels will be back at home this coming weekend. Eastern will host Jacksonville State at 7 p.m. on Friday and take on Tennessee Tech at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
