RICHMOND, Ky. –
Rivals Eastern Kentucky University and Morehead State University will meet on the volleyball court on Tuesday at McBrayer Arena on the EKU campus.  The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The EKU volleyball team will be selling rally towels before the match.  All proceeds will go to assist a member of the Colonel volleyball family with their battle against breast cancer.  Rally towels are available for a minimum donation of $5.

The Colonels (13-13, 8-7 OVC) rebounded from a four-match road losing streak by picking up a pair of wins at home over the weekend.  Eastern shutout SIU Edwardsville 3-0 before staging a comeback to beat Eastern Illinois 3-2.

Morehead State (19-6, 14-1 OVC) suffered its first conference loss of the season on Friday, falling to Eastern Illinois 3-0.  The Eagles rebounded with a 3-0 victory over SIUE.

MSU clinched at least a share of the OVC regular season championship with its win over the Cougars.  The Eagles have a five game lead with five conference matches remaining.

Eastern Kentucky currently sits in fifth place in the conference.  The Colonels are essentially a game out of second and a game out of eighth place.  The top six teams in the OVC standings advance to the conference tournament.

Sophomore Ashley Edmond leads the Colonels this season with 329 kills and ranks fifth in the OVC with an average of 3.36 kills per set.  Freshman Hannah Burkle is second on the squad with 287 kills and leads the team with 85 blocks.  She ranks eighth in the conference with 0.83 blocks per set.

Freshmen Abbey Cvelbar and Dena Ott lead the team in assists and digs respectively.
