RICHMOND, Ky. –
Six teams will qualify for the 2011 Ohio Valley Conference volleyball tournament.  Eastern Kentucky University enters the final weekend of the regular season looking to secure its place in that group of six.

The Colonels will play at Tennessee Tech at 8 p.m. ET on Friday.  The season ends at Jacksonville State on Saturday.

EKU (14-15, 9-9 OVC) is currently in fifth place with two matches remaining.  The Colonels are still within two games of second place.  However, there is also three teams that are tied for sixth, just one game behind the Colonels.  In all, nine teams are still mathematically alive for the tournament.

Morehead State (17-1) has captured the top seed for the upcoming tournament.  Tennessee State and Tennessee-Martin are tied for second with 11-7 conference records.  Southeast Missouri State (10-8) is fourth, one game in front of Eastern Kentucky.

Jacksonville State (10-18, 8-10 OVC) is tied with Austin Peay and Murray State for sixth.  Eastern Illinois (7-12) is right behind that trio.  Tennessee Tech (4-24, 3-15 OVC) is the only team eliminated from tournament contention.

EKU is 3-2 in its last five matches.
