RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team takes to the road again this weekend, this time heading to the Palmetto State. The Colonels face Winthrop Saturday afternoon and Presbyterian College Monday night.
Both Winthrop and Presbyterian are a part of the Big South Conference. The Colonels are 3-2 against Big South opponents under head coach
Jeff Neubauer.
EKU last faced Winthrop as part of the 2010 BracketBusters. The Colonels shot 60.9 percent (28-of-46) from the floor in that game on the way to a 77-57 victory. Meanwhile, Eastern and Presbyterian met for the first time ever last season. The Blue Hose shot a whopping 72.7 percent (16-of-22) from the floor in the second half of that game to earn a 67-66 win.

Storylines
--For the third consecutive year, Eastern Kentucky led the OVC in three-pointers made (247) in 2010-11. The Colonels made at least 10 three-pointers in a game nine times, including a season-best 12 trifectas in the win over Kentucky Christian on Dec. 8, 2010. EKU set an OVC record with 327 three-pointers made in the 2009-10 season.
