Gameday: EKU Hosts North Carolina Central Tuesday Night

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team takes on North Carolina Central University Tuesday night in McBrayer Arena. FREE t-shirts will be available while supplies last. Tip time is set for 8 p.m.

This is Eastern’s (4-5) first-ever meeting against North Carolina Central (5-3). The Colonels are 2-2 against team from the MEAC under head coach Jeff Neubauer following road losses to Norfolk State and Delaware State earlier this season.

The Eagles are in their first season as a full-fledged Division I member after a five-year reclassification process. North Carolina Central was picked to finish fifth in the MEAC this year after going 10-5 against league opponents in 2010-11. Forward Dominique Sutton averages a team-high 9.4 rebounds per game and also ranks second on the squad in scoring at 17.8 points per game.

This is the second of three consecutive home games for Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels conclude the home stretch on Saturday, Dec. 10 versus Georgia Southern.
