Colonels Fall At Northern Kentucky

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University’s volleyball team fell to Northern Kentucky University, 3-0, in a non-conference match on Tuesday.  The first two sets were a battle, but NKU won both by two points.

The Norse (20-5) won by scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-13.

Eastern Kentucky (7-14) was led by the play of freshman Rachel Vick.  Fourteen of her 16 attacks were kills and she did not make an error for a .875 attack percentage.  She also had a block and an ace.  Ashley Edmond contributed 10 kills.

Northern got 12 kills from Shelby Buschur and 10 from Kelly Morrissey.  The Norse out-hit EKU .329 to .189.

The Colonels will be back in Ohio Valley Conference action on Friday at home against Jacksonville State.  The match is set to begin at 6 p.m.
