RICHMOND, Ky. – This Saturday is ‘Rivalry Day’ as the Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team hosts long-time OVC rival Morehead State in McBrayer Arena. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.

Saturday’s game could have huge implications in the OVC standings. Both teams enter the contest with 6-6 conference records and tied for fifth in the league standings. The winner of Saturday’s game will keep their hopes alive for a top-four seed in the upcoming OVC tournament. Eight teams qualify for the league tourney, but just the top four seeds receive a bye in the opening round.

The Colonels (14-12, 6-6) are 104-73 all-time against Morehead State and 6-9 versus the Eagles under head coach Jeff Neubauer. Morehead State has won eight of the last 10 meetings, including a 57-54 decision on Jan. 14. EKU shot a season-low 31 percent (13-of-42) from the floor in that contest.

The Eagles (13-13, 6-6) have split their last four OVC games, but have scored 56 points or less in each of those tilts. Center Drew Kelly scored a career-best 26 points in the first meeting versus Eastern thanks in part to going 12-for-16 at the charity stripe. He leads the Eagles in both scoring (13.5 ppg) and rebounding (5.3 rpg) in league games.

--Tickets are available by calling the EKU ticket office at 859-622-2122. The ticket box office will open at 3 p.m., one hour prior to the women’s contest. Arena doors will open at 3 p.m., as well.

Storylines
--Senior Joshua Jones is shooting 52.5 percent (21-of-40) from three-point range in eight career games against Morehead State. Jones netted a personal-high five three-pointers in last year’s home game versus Morehead State.

--Eastern shot 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from three-point range Tuesday versus Mid-Continent, marking its second-best three-point shooting night of the year. Six different EKU players made a three-pointer in that game.
