Gameday: EKU Faces Final Road Test of Regular Season at Tennessee Tech

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team concludes its OVC road schedule Wednesday night at Tennessee Tech. Game time is set for 8 p.m. ET.

Both the Colonels and Golden Eagles enter Wednesday’s game looking to turn recent fortunes around. EKU (14-13, 6-7 OVC) had its worst shooting night of the season Saturday against Morehead State. Senior Jaron Jones was the lone bright spot with 20 points on 3-of-3 shooting from long range. The rest of the team went 5-of-24 (20.8 percent) from behind the arc in the loss.

Tennessee Tech (16-11, 8-6), which ranks second in the OVC in scoring at 73.0 points per game, has been held to an average of 55.0 ppg in its last two outings, both of which have been losses. The Golden Eagles boast two of the top three scorers in the league – Kevin Murphy (21.0 ppg) and Jud Dillard (18.0 ppg). Dillard also leads the conference in rebounding at 8.7 boards per game.

The Colonels are 68-55 all-time against Tennessee Tech and 8-6 versus the Golden Eagles under head coach Jeff Neubauer. The Golden Eagles swept the season series last year for the first time since 2002-03.
