RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team steps out of OVC action Saturday to host IPFW. The game was created as part of the 2012 Sears BracketBusters weekend. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

This is the seventh straight year that EKU (14-14) will participate in the Sears BracketBusters event. Eastern is 3-3 all-time in the BracketBusters following an 81-74 loss at Southern Conference foe Western Carolina in 2011. The Colonels are 1-1 all-time against IPFW and last squared off against the Mastodons in 2002. This is EKU’s first meeting against a team from the Summit League under head coach Jeff Neubauer.

IPFW (10-16) has dropped 10 of its last 11 games following a 75-71 setback to Summit leader Oral Roberts on Wednesday. Junior guard Frank Gaines currently ranks fifth in the Summit League and 14th nationally (Division I) in scoring at 20.1 ppg. Gaines paced the Mastodons in scoring and rebounding against Oral Roberts with 28 points and eight rebounds.
