Home Stand Ends On Saturday For EKU Volleyball

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University’s volleyball team will end its four-match home stand on Saturday against Austin Peay.  The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. at McBrayer Arena.

The Colonels stand at 3-10 overall and 0-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play.  EKU has lost four straight and 10 of its last 11.  The Lady Govs are 8-10 this season and 2-1 in league play.  APSU has won two straight and five of its last six.

Junior Ashley Edmond leads Eastern with 113 kills.  Sophomore Alexis Plagens is close behind with 105 kills.  Kelsey Kuehner is the team leader with 38 blocks.  Abbey Cvelbar has 275 assists, but has been sharing setting duties with freshman Mallori Moffat of late.

Jada Stotts has a team-high 238 kills for Austin Peay.  Lauren Henderson has contributed a team-best 43 blocks.  Cami Fields has recorded 652 assists this season.

The Colonels and Lady Govs will be playing for the 61st time.  The first meeting between the schools came in 1980.  EKU leads the all-time series 39-21.  The two teams split a pair of meetings last season with each winning on their own home court.
