The No. 12/13 Colonels (6-0, 3-0) enter this contest with their highest national ranking since the end of the 2007 season. Eastern has scored at least 30 points in four straight games and leads the league in scoring at 36.2 points per game. Three different players scored a touchdown last week against Eastern Illinois led by junior RB
Dy'Shawn Mobley's two touchdown runs.
On defense, EKU has been a turnover machine. The Colonels forced three more turnovers against the Panthers and have piled up 18 turnovers this season, which ranks fourth nationally.
Tennessee Tech (2-4, 1-2) has struggled on offense as the Golden Eagles have been held to 14 or fewer points in four games. However, TTU's defense has been stout most of the year and ranks third in the league in scoring defense (26.7 ppg). The Golden Eagles are also the least penalized team in the OVC.
Eastern Kentucky owns 52 all-time victories over Tennessee Tech, which are tied for the most against any opponent in the school annals, and has won six of the last meetings against TTU. The two teams first met as OVC opponents in 1950 with Eastern Kentucky prevailing in that game, 47-7.
