EKU Volleyball Travels For Two Key OVC Matches

RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team will play two conference games this weekend. EKU will travel to Tennessee Tech University Friday and Jacksonville State University Saturday for 8 p.m. matches.
 
EKU's record is 16-9 overall and 6-2 in the conference. The Colonels are tied for second place in the Ohio Valley Conference with Jacksonville State and Belmont University. Eastern is third in the OVC with 15.88 digs per set. The Golden Eagles are 10-14 overall. Jacksonville is 14-10 overall.
 
The Colonels fell in three to the University of Dayton Wednesday night. Easterns' Alexis Plagens led the team with 11 kills and senior Dena Ott had 19 digs.
 
EKU played the Gamecocks and Tennessee Tech at home last weekend. Eastern beat Jacksonville 3-1 and lost to Tech in five. JSU's Charis Ludtke had a team high of 15 kills and Jennifer Hart led with 21 digs.
 
The Golden Eagles' Kellie Williams scored a high of 22 kills and Courtney Smith led with 28 digs. Jordan Wachowiak leads the conference, averaging 1.19 blocks per set. Cody Dodd is second averaging 0.37 services aces per set and averaging 4.05 points per set.
